R. Kupke: Die Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland zieht in das neue Sendezentrum in Köln-Deutz um. Mit dem Umzug werden die traditionellen, videobasierten Programmarchive auf ein filebasiertes Archiv umgestellt. Zurzeit werden etwa 150.000 h HiRes-Material digitalisiert und in einer 4-PB-Bibliothek gespeichert. Neben einer Kostenersparnis bietet die Vorhaltung des Programmmaterials in einer flexibel zugreifbaren Speicherstruktur Vorteile beimArbeiten. Es wird das Speichersystem Contentbank vorgestellt.
The media group RTL Germany is currently preparing its relocation to a new broadcasting centre in Cologne-Deutz. The newly created infrastructure will allow conversion of the group's traditional tape-based programme library into a file-based archive. 150,000 hrs of high-resolution material are currently being digitised and copied to a 4 PByte 'Contentbank' (secure content store). Cost savings and the flexible storage of all programme material in a flexible and accessible structure will allow comfortable, prompt handling and editing of the material. The system will be introduced and explained.
