D. A. Smith: Eine Analyse des Transportstroms (TS) allein reicht für die neueste Generation von mobilen DTVDiensten wie DVB-H nicht aus. Der Beitrag betrachtet die Validierungsanforderungen an Techniken, die Video, Audio und Dienst-Parameter-Information in IP-Paketen innerhalb eines Transportstroms kapseln. Der Electronic-Service-Guide (ESG) ist dabei nicht länger ein optionaler Systembestandteil, ist allerdings vorhanden und muss korrekt sein, sofern er für ein Mobilgerät Content zu identifizieren, auszuwählen und exakt darzustellen hat. Zur Sicherstellung der Qualität, Übertragung, Verfügbarkeit und Decodierfähigkeit von DVB-H-Diensten und -Content werden neue Multilayer- und Crosslayer-Messverfahren und ihre Anwendungen beschrieben.
Transport stream (TS) only analysis is not sufficient with the latest generation of mobile DTV services such as DVB-H. The contribution looks at the validation requirements for technologies which encapsulate video, audio and service parameter information in IP packets within a TS and where the Electronic Service Guide (ESG) is no longer an optional part of the system but must be present and correct if a handset is to be able to identify, select and properly display content. To ensure quality, delivery, availability and decodability of DVB-H services and content, new multilayer and cross-layer testing techniques and their application will be described.
