IT-based television production hasmatured significantly over the last few years. The new, completely IT-based approach has been proving to be highly scalable and extremely cost-effective. Despite the new flexible and adaptable technology it still takes a lot of work to build a television production and requires integration with a wide range of different applications, such as Non- Linear Editors (NLE), air servers, Internet video portals, plus legacy video archives. This document introduces an open and transparent approach to dynamic content exchange among video archives and various video applications.

Weigner: Es wird ein offenes und transparentes Verfahren zum Austausch von dynamischen Inhalten zwischen Media-Asset-Management-(MAM-) System-basierten Videoarchiven und anderen Videoanwendungen vorgestellt, dessen endgültiges Ziel die Versorgung jeder Videoanwendung mit dem von ihr geforderten Videoformat in dem von ihr präferierten Codec ist – unabhängig davon, in welchem physischen Format die Datei gespeichert ist und wo sie sich tatsächlich physisch befindet. Es werden die entsprechenden Ideen im Detail formuliert und der aktuelle Stand der Implementierung beschrieben.
