Part 1 explains the production of a 15 minute 3D film about the '24h Rennen' (Nürburgring). This involved the use of seven stereoscopic camera systems (3D onboard and highspeed cameras with 3D Steadicam rigs). Creative as well as technical aspects of the shoot and subsequent digital image editing the complex film project are described. Part 2 summarises results gained by the BBC during a live 3D transmission. This is followed by a presentation of the work of the BBC’s R&D department. The goal of this work is the extraction of 3D data fromexisting broadcast camera systems and their transformation into a 3D TV format.

Kluger: Zunächst wird die Produktion eines 15-minütigen 3D-Films über das 24-h-Rennen auf dem Nürburgring mit sieben stereoskopischen Kamerasystemen (3D-Onboard-Kameras, Highspeed-Kameras und 3D-Steadicam-Rigs) erläutert. Es werden die dramaturgischen als auch die technischen Aspekte der Dreharbeiten und der digitalen Bildbearbeitung für das komplexe Filmprojekt betrachtet. ImTeil II des Beitrags werden Ergebnisse der BBC zusammengefasst, die bei einer Live-3D-Übertragung gewonnen wurden. Des Weiteren werden aktuelle Arbeiten der BBCForschungsabteilung vorgestellt, bei denen man als Ziel verfolgt, die 3D-Informationen aus verfügbaren Braodcastkameras zu extrahieren und dann in ein 3DTV-Format zu wandeln.
