In Babelsberg it is expected to begin in January 2014 a three-year research project on new technologies for filebased digital moving images: the D-Werft. In this article three of the partners involved write about background, core technology and vision of the project. The project started at the world-famous and oldest filmproduction site against the backdrop of the ever-growing use of IT technologies in the various areas of film production and the associated challenges of only partially compatible data and meta data. D-Werft will answer these challenges with developing an open, common core technology „Production Linked Data“.
Sascha Friesike; Uli Kunz; Harald Sack: In Babelsberg beginnt voraussichtlich im Januar 2014 ein dreijähriges Forschungsprojekt zu neuen Technologien für digitales Bewegtbild: die D-Werft. Im vorliegenden Artikel stellen drei der beteiligten Akteure Hintergrund, Technologieansatz und die Vision des Projektes vor. Das Forschungsprojekt D-Werft arbeitet am ältesten Filmstandort der Welt vor dem Hintergrund des beständig wachsenden Einsatzes von IT-Technologien in den einzelnen Gewerken der Filmproduktion und der damit verbundenen Herausforderung nur bedingt kompatibler Daten und Metadaten. D-Werft will in Babelsberg auf diese Herausforderungen mit einer offenen, gemeinsamen Kerntechnologie „Linked Production Data“ antworten.
