A few years ago, media servers were hardly found in a broadcast studio environment. In view of the ongoing development towards 4K and 8K production for major sports events, however, those devices are becoming a crucial factor of studio productions. In this context, the article presents the technical details of a new media server able to meet the requirements of those future broadcast production scenarios.
