The new OB Van FÜ01 is ORF’s first IP based mobile production facility. It is mainly used for winter sport, classical music and entertainment productions. The entire video and audio signal distribution in the ORF FÜ01 is using IP technology based on SMPTE ST 2110, SMPTE ST 2022-7 as well as AES 67. Core element of the system architecture are two IP routers working in a 1:1 redundancy configuration. Devices that already provide IP interfaces are connected directly to the routers and transport their video and audio content via IP only. Some additional devices do not yet provide IP interfaces. Their video and audio signals need to be transferred into the IP system via IP to SDI Embedded converters (and vice versa). A Broadcast SDN Controller as well as a monitoring system guarantee the usability of control functions needed to operate and monitor the broadcast systems, independent from the devices and the IP signal transport mechanism.

Die gesamte Video- und Audiosignalverteilung im ORF FÜ01 erfolgt mittels IP-Technologie auf der Basis von SMPTE ST 2110 und SMPTE ST 2022-7 sowie AES 67. Herzstück der Systemarchitektur sind zwei IP-Router, die als 1:1-Redundanz konfiguriert sind. Devices, die über IP-Schnittstellen verfügen, sind mit diesen Schnittstellen redundant direkt an die beiden Router angeschlossen und transportieren ihre Video- und Audioinhalte nur noch über IP. Für Devices ohne eigene IP-Schnittstellen werden IP nach SDI Embedded Konverter (und umgekehrt) verwendet. Ein Broadcast SDN Controller sowie ein Monitoringsystem stellen sicher, dass die im Broadcastbetrieb erforderlichen Steuerungsfunktionen und Signalisierungen auch im IP-Umfeld wie gewohnt nutzbar sind.
