Relocation to a new building in Strasbourg gave the cultural channel ARTE the opportunity to install a completely new master control, pre-transmission preparation and programme playout system. There was no requirement to migrate legacy equipment. This paper describes the project, involving the construction of a tapeless production environment.

McNamara: Mit dem Umzug in ein neues Gebäude in Straßburg konnte der Kulturkanal ARTE eine vollständig neue technische Installation für die Sendeabwicklung einschließlich Sendevorbereitung aufzubauen. Die alte vorhandene Technik musste dazu nicht migriert werden. Die technische Realisation und technischen/redaktionellen Einrichtungen wie die Sendevorbereitung und Sendeabwicklung als bandlose Produktionsumgebung werden beschrieben und vorgestellt.
