The migration towards a fully IP-based production is not happening as quickly as expected. In this environment, the IRT deals with open questions such as clock and synchronisation concepts, network and device management, analysis/monitoring, and IT security. Within standardisation bodies (e.g. EBU) , in research, in the development of analysis tools and as a source of ideas. In its special role as a mediator between industry and broadcasting, the IRT hosts and participates in interoperability workshops for live IP. The aim of these meetings is to provide insights for standardisation committees and product development.
Markus Berg; Franz Baumann: Die Migration zu einer komplett IP-basierten Produktion erfolgt nicht so schnell, wie von vielen erwartet. Das IRT beschäftigt sich in diesem Themenbereich mit offenen Baustellen, wie Takt- und Synchronisationskonzepten, Netz- und Gerätemanagement, Analyse/Monitoring und IT-Sicherheit: Im Rahmen von Gremien- und Standardisierungsgruppen (z. B. EBU), in wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten, bei der Entwicklung von Analysetools und als Ideengeber. In seiner Sonderrolle als Vermittler zwischen Industrie und Rundfunk ist das IRT Gastgeber und Teilnehmer von Interoperabilitäts- und Validierungs-Workshops für Live-IP. Ziel dieser Treffen sind Erkenntnisse für Standardisierungsgremien und Produktentwicklung.
