„Digital Workflow“ as a term for continuous file operation has already established itself in television production and playout at ORF. The underlying aim of the project was to put tape into retirement at the end of the migration process. As a result, ORF would be able to offer television viewers additional HD broadcast content and, at the same time, open up new product opportunities. This paper addresses the alignment of ORF’s technology towards a more service-oriented structure.
Stefan Wolf; Manfred Wieser: Programm „Tapeless“ zur Realisierung des „digitalen Workflows“
Die Bezeichnung „Digitaler Workflow“ als Begriff für den durchgängigen File-Betrieb im Fernsehen des ORF hat sich bereits etabliert. Das dahinterstehende Projektziel war, die Bandmaschine am Ende des Migrationsprozesses in Rente zu schicken. Dem Zuschauer kann dadurch ein größeres Angebot an HD-Content angeboten werden und es entstehen neue Produktmöglichkeiten bzw. Sendungsformate. Die Ausrichtung der ORF-Technik hin zu einer stärker serviceorientierten Organisation und der Umstellungsstatus der file-basierenden Systemlandschaft sind Gegenstand des Fachbeitrags.
