A. Nowak, S. Fößel: Während es bei der Archivierung von Filmmaterial seit Jahrzehnten bewährte Standards und Verfahren gibt, ist das bei digital produziertem Material nicht der Fall. Im Beitrag werden die Anforderungen an die Archivierung von digitalen Filmen und daraus abgeleitete Spezifikationen für Datenformate und Abläufe zur effektiven Nutzung beschrieben und ein Systemkonzept vorgestellt, das im Rahmen des EU-Projekts EDCine entwickelt wird. Des Weiteren wird auf Aktivitäten in der internationalen Standardisierung in diesem Bereich eingegangen.
Preservation of conventional film material is a process based on standards and methods which have been successfully used for decades. That is not currently the case with digitally produced material. This contribution describes requirements for digital motion picture archival and derived system specifications for data formats and workflows. The author explains the concept and application of a system which has been developed in the European EDCine project. International standardisation activities in this area are also described.
